how numerology changed my tarot practice
or, why the hell i'm teaching a class on numerology
hello, friends. today is the last day to sign up for my six-week class, devils & digits.
and since i talk about the numerology of tarot a lot in my writing, today i want to tell you a little bit more about why.
when i first starting working with tarot cards, nothing about the practice came naturally to me. i was really excited to learn the language of tarot, but it wasn’t intuitive - in fact, i nearly gave up on multiple occasions, struggling to feel a personal connection with the cards.
no matter how many resources i read, books i flipped through, websites i visited, the tarot simply didn’t click. i found myself leaning heavily on interpretations from more experienced readers, whether those interpretations resonated or not. and even though i was memorizing card meanings and soaking up knowledge like a sponge, i was worried that somehow this wasn’t for me, that i would never be able to grasp the cards in a way that made sense.
it wasn’t until i stumbled onto a post about the numerology of the minor arcana that the structure and sequence of the tarot started to clarify for me. thinking about how each card serves as a reaction to the card before it, and sets the stage for the card that follows it, helped me recognize the function of each card.
and in expanding that function to every other card with the same number, in tracing the magic from the magician to the wheel to the sun and through the aces of each minor arcana suit, i started to discover new layers of meaning, started to understand how every number served a very important function throughout the entire tarot.
i started to find myself within the cards. and in that discovery, i began to transform.
if you’ve been reading tarot for awhile, it’s easy to fall into interpretive habits that don’t always leave space for expansion. the ace of cups means a new emotional journey, the ten of wands means burnout, the lovers means partnership and choices. these interpretations aren’t wrong, not at all - but if you’ve been craving more personal nuance, if you’ve been feeling stale in your understanding of certain cards, if you’re ready to go deeper and broaden your perspective on the tarot, devils & digits is just the class for you.
for six weeks, i’ll send you pre-recorded video lectures that explore the foundations of tarot and numerology, the main 9 digits in the sequence, and the groupings that every single card in the deck fits into. with exercises, journal prompts, and brand new tarot spreads, you’ll have a wide variety of ways to explore the material - and i’ll be with you every step of the way, from live weekly office hours to an online community with me and your fellow classmates.
devils & digits will transform your relationship with the tarot, and give you all the tools you need to continue exploring archetypes by the numbers for years to come.
today is the final day to sign up for my class, and students will get their first set of lessons on saturday, april 30th. i would love for you to join me! check out my free tarot & numerology introductory session from a few weeks ago, or click the button below to learn more about the schedule, pricing, and to snag your spot.
